As noted in the requirement, the purpose of the Eagle project is to give the Scout an opportunity to “plan, develop, and give leadership to others.” It's an opportunity for you to demonstrate the leadership of others while performing a project for the benefit of the community. Completing the Eagle Project is a requirement for earning the Eagle Rank.
For this project, you will take everything you've learned about coordinating events and leading people, then show your creativity by finding and designing your own project to plan, fund, and lead! You may feel overwhelmed by this (or that feeling might sink in after you try to start your project), a lot of Scouts do. You have a great support network in the Troop! It's highly recommended you reach out and try to find a Project Coach who can help give additional guidance and some insight to help you along in the process.
Your parent (or guardian), your Scoutmaster, the Unit Committee Chair, the Council Eagle Advisor, your Project Coach (or LtE Mentor, if you ask for one), the project beneficiary, and you. While you are responsible for your project, you have a lot of guidance.
